Latin America is not just a nearshore contact-center destination; it is also an IT outsourcing location. Most of the continent, being led by Brazil, Mexico and Costa Rica, is fast on the track to servicing the world through contact centers, and more recently by offering IT services such as application development and maintenance, testing, IT infrastructure, support and consulting, and system integration. To encourage the outsourcing industry, many LatAm countries are developing strong associations of IT companies, and are trying to lobby for flexible regulations, tax exemptions, funding and support on education and infrastructure. Brazil has Brasscom while Mexico has Mexico IT, and Costa Rica has CINDE. Chile, too, is catching up. Corporación de Fomento de la Producción (CORFO), an economic development agency is now becoming fairly active now. If Che Guevara were to journey up Latin America on his motorcycle today, he would likely not be drawn to revolution by seeing lack of education, poverty and poor infrastructure around him. Instead, the trained doctor would have probably resigned himself to practicing medicine, given the prosperity that the industry, especially services, is bringing to the continent. The big change in the continent since Che's time is its improved educational infrastructure. |
Leaders in the region are Neoris, Politec Global IT Services, Hildebrando, Sonda, Quintec Soluciones Informaticas, Synapsis, Globant, Grupo ASSA, Grupo Prominente and TNX. The favorable outsourcing conditions in Latin America encourage even the global providers to have establishments in the regions. The region also hosts Indian IT service providers like Infosys, Genpact, Satyam and TCS, and international biggies such as IBM, HP, EDS and Perot Systems. Improvising bottom-line revenues and boosting cost savings by leveraging global skills are the given benefits of outsourcing. Therefore, companies target outsourcing to trigger its top-line now. Each company wants additional business value out of every dollar money spent on outsourcing partnerships. This sublist is an effort to fulfill buyer's quest to maintain updated short-list of leading providers that can show outsourcing-enabled achievements of strategic objectives with speedier time-to-market, improved cost and energy efficiencies and increased productivity. The named service providers in this category are from the Latin American continent and provide mature outsourcing offerings that meet market demand and demonstrate the more-proven capability to sustain their position as market requirements evolve. They focus and invest in their offerings to sustain their position and maintain high-visibility in the continent. Typically they have a large, satisfied customer base and remain successful because of their size and financial strength. |
