So what do I do at home?
Okay, you have nothing to do. 12 hour work days have turned into lazy mornings (if you sleep at all by the way-depending on how many EMIs are pending on your home loan) and the whole day is stretched out without any schedule. Your hands are itching to get hold of the blackberry. Sadly it went with your job. So you think next, what do I do at home?
1. Get a hobby: Looking continously for a job and calling everyone you know and do not know can get depressing. Keep aside sometime everyday for a hobby of your choice. Its time to take out those old stamps or coins or maybe to check if Picasso has a competitor in you.
2. Join a healthclub: You never had the time to workout when you were holding a full time job. Now, you have run out of the “no time” excuse. Join the local healthclub and you might actually start enjoying it in a few days. After all a healthy body leads to a healthy mind.
3. Do what you always wanted to do but complained that you had no time for it. Like look under a car bonnet, checking out google earth or simply lie about reading the latest bestseller. This will occupy your mind and make you feel less stressed out.
4.Turn towards religion/spiritualism: This is the best way to relax. And of course, you feel more connected to everything around you. The best de-stresser. Trust me.
Nice site! thanks for the great post…%d%a%d%aPeople should read this.
Very well written and right on the point.
A few more points I would like to add to your:
1. Develop, nurture and pay attention to your human relationships: your parents, relatives, friends, ex-coworkers or your loved one for whom you had little or no time when u were busy.
2. Start work on those certifications: These may not benefit you immediately but will definitely enhance your future marketability. Did you wanted that PMP certification or Cisco Sales Expert (CSE)? This is the best time to go for certifications in your profession.
3. Network: Professional networking helps build a persons clout in the industry whether you work for someone or have your business. Become member of professional organizations, and start attending meetings, seminars etc, of your local area chapter. Organizations such as Indus, Open, amongst others are good grounds for networking it.
You can also network online using sites such as Linked In, and others, but nothing beats personal one on one connections.
This will go a long way.
