Tickling the Funny Bone of Outsourcing

If the word outsourcing frightened you until now, you have reasons to cheer and laugh your heart out as more and more people are now approaching the subject in a rather comical way.

An entrepreneur in Berkeley, Sandeep Sood, is a middleman between his U.S. clients who need software and workers in India who write the codes for them. And the misunderstandings and miscommunications between the two sides gave him the idea for a cartoon strip called “Doubtsourcing.”

According to him, “…there’s a lack of humor in the outsourcing industry, however I find it funny. Set mostly in an office in India, “Doubtsourcing” aims to be to the outsourcing world what “Dilbert” has been to the U.S. cubicle set.”

Interestingly, the comic strip itself is partly and aptly outsourced. Sood writes the dialogues for the cartoons and his friend in China does all the illustrations.

To further tickle our bone, Diane Cheklich has also found something to laugh about in the dirty world of outsourcing. His film called Offshore, is a satirical take on the lives of the American workers. However, this is not the first time around when this topic has caught the fancy of filmmakers (remember the so-called crossover cinema Hyderabad Blues 2 and The Angrez).

With there popularity, one can only say that finally outsourcing has finally caught the fancy of Americans to produce such cartoons and films.
