A North American Union? A New Currency?
After European Union, is there is another political union of nations in the making?
Rumor: The United States of America, Mexico and Canada will merge into a North American Union that will have a common currency.
Well, American President laughs off any such idea behind the dialog that continues between the U.S., and its two bordering nations Mexico and Canada.
The rumors have taken roots in the White House led initiative called the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP as it is called) of North America. It is a step toward protecting the U.S. from terrorism threats and crimes across borders. The initiative is also a step to “expand economic oppportunity” and combat infectious diseases.
Some see SPP in the light of immigration reform or loss of American jobs, which is defied by the way SPP is defined by the U.S. government.
Though it may be an arrow in the dark, but it is like giving ideas to the policy makers. After all, Euro is emerging as a stronger currency than the dollar.
I am thinking, if it did happen even in a dream…who will benefit and how? Socially, politically, economically?
Why just a North American union? Why not have just a single global currency. The Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) will be greatly enhanced and there will be no need to worry about Euro for ever. I propose we trump the Euro and all other likely competitors once for all by going all the way and unify the global economy under one currency. This will spell success to Freedom and democracy and there will be no need to worry about terrorism at all.
