What prompted Satyam to set up a development center in São Paulo?
São Paulo has millions of skilled and highly qualified professionals capable of developing the most complex applictaions.The city’s solid technological base also enables professials to deal with technological innovations.
How do you rate São Paulo’s education/technical training?
São Paulo has the greatest number of higher education and research institutions in the
country. The city has three state and three federal universities, aside from a number of private institutions.
What are your expansion plans in São Paulo?
From 200 full-time employees in 2007 we plan to scale to 2,000 by 2009–2010. In fact, we have big plans in the region.While we already have a center in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, we also plan to have centers in Mexico, Chile and Argentina.
Which regions are being served from this center?
Our center in São Paulo, called Satyam LatAm, is our headquarter for South America. It services several Brazilian, South American and global customers.
What sort of work are you offering from this center?
We offer both IT and BPO services. Specifically, these are enterprise application and business-inteligence solutions, application-management services, infrastructure-management service and BPO services.
The center offers services across many verticals including banking and financial, manufacturing and retail.
