GlobalLogic, a global product-development services company, has expanded its reach in China and North Asia with the acquisition of Dalian 3CIS, a software product development company with deep roots in China and Japan.
Dalian 3CIS joins GlobalLogic’s existing development center in Beijing, China in helping software product companies accelerate their time to market. The acquisition is part of GlobalLogic’s overall strategy to build and retain the world’s best software R&D engineers and help its technology clients enter new markets.
“Many of our clients are looking to us for guidance in entering the China and North Asia markets, which can be hard for outsiders to navigate,” said Kirk Tang, GlobalLogic’s vice president and general manager of China operations. “The addition of 3CIS Dalian strengthens our ties in both the domestic Japanese and Chinese markets, while expanding our engineering skill sets.”
Through the acquisition, GlobalLogic aims to bring additional expertise in embedded technologies, voice and face recognition, and artificial intelligence. Dalian 3CIS engineers are specialists in JAVA, .NET, and C/C++ development.
The city of Dalian, a port city in China’s northeast province of Liaoning, is well-known for its software development industry. Most of the world’s leading information technology and telecommunications companies have established their R&D centers there. Due to its close proximity to Japan, many Japanese firms have chosen Dalian as a primary technology development destination.
