Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, has expanded its global reach with the opening of a new delivery center in Monterrey, Mexico. The new delivery center will provide integration and outsourcing services to its North American customers.

The new facility of Accenture  — whose delivery-center capability comprises 76,000 professionals at more than 50 delivery centers — will provide services such as systems integration, application development and maintenance, testing, and technology consulting services to its customers across many industries. The center supports a variety of technologies and technology platforms, including JAVA/J2EE, Microsoft.Net, mainframe, SAP and Oracle.

Apart from this new delivery center, Accenture five delivery other centers across Central and South America — with one in Mexico, two each in Brazil and Argentina. At present, Accenture has 51 delivery centers across the globe.

A few days back, the company agreed to buy a Brazil-based industrial IT and automation solutions provider ATAN under undisclosed terms. The acquisition is expected to close within 60 days.

All these new announcements by Accenture reveal the company’s present strategy to focus on the region of Latin America, which is not only fast emerging as outsourcing hub but its countries such as Brazil and Mexico are already set to give a hard competition to India and China. Hence, they are attracting big providers as Accenture.
