Tata Elxsi, the technology arm of Tata Group, has set up two new development centers in Coimbatore and Hyderabad, India. These centers provide its customers with various services including product design and development. The new design centers will accommodate over 700 engineers and designers. The company already has design centers in India’s tier-1 outsourcing cities — Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai.
The company’s strategy to increase its capabilities in Hyderabad seems to a smart step. The IT sector in Hyderabad contributes maximum into the cities economy. In fact, the government is also planning to create 250,000 IT jobs by the end of next year. The city houses major IT players such as Accenture, HCL, HP, Infosys, UBS, Satyam, CSC and Oracle.
Even Coimbatore itself is an emerging outsourcing city in India. And, big wigs such as Wipro also have their significant presence in the city.
Besides, Bangalore-headquartered Tata Elxsi has also expanded its facility in Thiruvananthapuram. The facility in Thiruvananthapuram, which currently houses 582 engineers, has been expanded to accommodate another 1,500 techies. At present, the company’s employs 3,500 technologists.
Tata Elxsi has development centers in Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram, and a nearshore center in Japan.
