Nike, one of the leading designer, marketer, and distributor of athletic footwear, apparel, equipment, and accessories in the world, has awarded a five-year IT outsourcing (ITO) contract to Siemens IT Solutions and Services, a global IT solutions and services provider. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Under the terms of the deal, Siemens will operate parts of the ITO services, including global program management, global service desk, desk-side support services and asset management, as well as other services personalized for the Nike environment.

“We believe that this partnership with Siemens will deliver scalable and consistent services to our employee’s worldwide,” said Roland Paanakker, Nike Vice President and Chief Information Officer. “When fully rolled out, Siemens will support eleven languages and ensure end-to-end resolution to all incidents and service requests.”

In Apr. ’08, Nike awarded another IT-infrastructure services contract renewal to ACS. Under the terms of the deal, ACS will be responsible for providing end-to-end infrastructure services, including global datacenter, network, security, mainframe, midrange and messaging from strategically located ACS delivery centers in the U.S., Asia and the rest of Americas, including ACS' Northwest Regional Datacenter located in Hillsboro, Oregon. In addition, ACS will provide services from Nike datacenters located in Andover (Massachusetts), Memphis (Tennessee) and Hilversum (the Netherlands).
