Unisys Corporation, an IT services and solutions provider, and Swisscom IT Services, an IT services company, have formed a joint co-operation.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two partners will provide complete end-to-end outsourcing services to the Swiss market, particularly to clients who require their data-centre operations delivered out of Switzerland. The two partners will draw their expertise to cater their Swiss customers. At one hand, Swisscom will contribute through its strong local ties and presence, and will also draw on its IT operation delivery capabilities in order to offer its customers state of the art, secure and reliable IT services. At the other hand, Unisys will bring in its outsourcing and desktop management expertise.

As part of the agreement, Unisys will also utilize its global sourcing capabilities, combining local service delivery with delivery from service centers in Budapest, Shanghai, China and India. This will enable both organizations to offer their customers global, consistent IT services and solutions at competitive conditions.

Unisys and Swisscom IT Services have been working together successfully since Oct. ’07 when they first partnered to deliver data-center services and management of SAP solutions to Ciba in Switzerland.

This month Unisys has been in headlines due to various reasons. The company’s Hong Kong subsidiary has signed an IT outsourcing contract with Hong Kong Judiciary, the institution responsible for the administration of justice in Hong Kong. As pre the terms of the five-year contract, (with an additional two-year option), Unisys will provide IT outsourcing services, including ongoing application support and maintenance, network infrastructure, office automation and other IT services.
