ExlService Holdings have added a new delivery center in Manila, Philippines, which will commence its operations for a major U.S.A.-based insurance client. The Manila center would serve as EXL’s first delivery center outside India and in the process proves an important step in the provider’s strategy of providing seamless global delivery from countries around the world.
The EXL Philippines facility has a total capacity of over 950 seats and will be led by Sumir Anand. The Philippines facility has been built to meet the expanding demands of EXL’s existing clients in multiple industry verticals as they spread their outsourcing operations globally.
The Philippines is proving to be the next big hub of BPO services. The industry is expected to employ about 900,000 and generate revenues worth $13 billion by 2010. According to a report released by callcentres.net, many Philippine contact centers are now revenue generating in addition to providing traditional service functions. Roughly 70 percent of contact centers in the Philippines are measured as profits centers, compared to 91 percent of centers in India. What also works well for the Philippines is that the BPO workers here attrite less than their counterparts in India or China.
“We believe that the Philippines represents a valuable source of talent that will complement the significant transformation and outsourcing capabilities we offer today from India. Our presence in the Philippines will further enhance EXL’s business continuity capabilities and disaster recovery framework,” said Rohit Kapoor, President and COO, EXLService.
With this addition, EXL now has nine delivery centers located in India and the Philippines.
