This is Softtek’s third win in the Global Services 100 survey in the last four years, and has consistently emerged as the best LatAm IT-services provider.
One of the biggest achievements of Softtek last year was to establish itself in Asia. Widely regarded as one of Mexico’s most renowned IT-services provider, Softtek expanded to the East by acquiring I.T. United, a China-based IT-services provider. Other than having offices in most of Latin America, Softtek now also serves customers from four Chinese centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Xi’an.
In fact, Softtek seems to have an aggressive Asia strategy — it wants to acquire two more companies in China and service the domestic Chinese market. This is something that makes it unique from other LatAm players, most of whom concentrate on serving nearshore American customers.
And, it seems to have satisfied customers. “We awarded Softtek the opportunity to prove their expertise on small-sized projects, and after seeing positive results, we began outsourcing the maintenance of all our core applications,” says Christopher Harrison, VP, Application Development, Kaplan, one of Softtek’s customers in the educational-services space. “This reflects a deep commitment from Kaplan and a high level of professionalism from Softtek.”
After becoming one of the largest providers in LatAm, Softtek now aims to be “a strong alternative for India-centric global service delivery,” according to its President and CEO, Blanca Treviño.
