Elekta, a Sweden-based provider of medical technology and clinical solutions, has awarded IT Outsourcing (ITO) contract to Unisys Corporation. Unisys will manage Elekta’s global IT infrastructure to support the organisation’s worldwide operations. The contract, signed in the second quarter of 2007, has an estimated value of $21 million over seven years.
Under the terms of the contract, Unisys will provide IT outsourcing services supporting 2,000 of Elekta’s employees in 22 offices across Europe, the United States and Asia. The initial rollout across all locations is planned for completion in mid-2008.

Unisys will manage Elekta’s complete IT infrastructure, providing a single point of contact for wide-area and local area networking (WAN and LAN) and security requirements. Unisys also will provide and manage a service desk for end-user support, as well as system management, remote network management and desk side support services.
