GlobalLogic, the U.S.-headquartered Outsourced Product Development (OPD) company, has revealed that the company is planning to set up a delivery center in Latin America in the next 12 to 16 months. The company will hire about 1,000 employees in this center by 2010 — starting from April 2008.

Before revealing its intention to open this center, the company is ready with a delivery center in Beijing, China. It looks that the company is on an expansion spree, and this time South America gets a separate slot in the company’s budget.

“While drawing plans for the future, companies must look around the globe to expand their network for catering customer needs and fulfilling their own demand for skilled talent pool. Similarly, GlobalLogic will go to places where the talent is. We will hire 1,000 employees in Southern America by the end of 2010,” says Sanjay Singh, President, GlobalLogic. “Though, at present, we are on an exploring stage, we have plans to go live in Latin America with a center in the coming 12 to 16 months.”

The company is also planning to increase its total headcount to about 10,000 by 2010, with 6,000 employees in India, 2,000 in Eastern Europe, 1,000 to 1,500 in China and about 1,000 in Latin America.

Interestingly, last month GlobalLogic included 10 new customers in its clientele span across vertical areas such as mobile, telecom, financial services, engineering, quality assurance and Web 2.0/consumer Internet.
