Global Services and neoIT have kicked off the application process for the 2008 Global Services 100, a research-based listing of the Top 100 global IT and BPO services companies. The listing aims at identifying the Top 100 companies from around the world in 12 categories.

A team of senior editors at Global Services along with outsourcing experts at neoIT, a consulting firm focusing on services globalization, will receive and evaluate the online entries to identify the leading service providers located on four continents.

The results of the research, now in its third year, will be announced in the February 2008 issue of Global Services at a conference to be held in New York in end January/early February 2008.

Announcing the Global Services 100 application process Hoshie Ghaswalla, Managing Director, Global Services said, “The Global Services 100 is a tool for the buyers of business and technology services worldwide and gives them the confidence that they are interacting with leading providers of IT outsourcing and BPO services.

“Participating in the Global Services Top 100 listing helps organizations to benchmark themselves against the world’s best,” adds Ghaswalla.

The results of the research project, based upon multiple data points collected from service providers from nearly 25 countries and third parties regarding effective operations, service offerings, client relationships, and human capital, will be published in Global Services magazine, website and e-newsletter and neoIT’s globalservices100.com.

Winners in each of our 12 short-listed categories receive awards at a special ceremony at the Global Services Conference in January/February 2008.

Global Services reaches tens of thousands of buyers of IT and BPO services in the USA and Western Europe. Among service providers, it reaches companies in Latin America, Russia, Eastern Europe, India and China.

Dear Mary, Thanks for your comment. We appreciate your concern and ourselves are challenged about this. As a media player, we are 100% neutral for all awards and related rankings because our primary focus is the reader without whom our platforms would not have seen the phenomenal growth year on year. The Global Services 100 ranking meeting will happen from Nov 12 to Nov 15 at our Gurgaon office. If you would like to be present for the same, do let us know.

The world has been aware of pay-for-placement rankings like these for years. The only proven unbiased rankings in the industry come from JD Powers and Black Book (the only two which allow independent scrutiny of the methodology and science of the results). If you're going to shamlessly accept advertising or sponsorship dollars like yourselves neoIT, Nasscom and IAOP & rank suppliers - don't think any buyer is fooled.
