The World Bank group and EDS, a provider of information technology outsourcing services, announced a three-year, $150 million IT services agreement. EDS is one of three companies selected by the World Bank to compete for task orders. The contract has two option years.
With the agreement, EDS will provide technology services in support of the World Bank's development mission in the areas of software applications, customer relationship management, and technology infrastructure and information management.
The agreement also includes quality assurance, which will reduce rework, maintain highly motivated employees, and provide consistent processes to improve productivity.
As a part of the agreement, EDS will use its Best Shore service delivery model to support critical software application development and maintenance services onsite and also offshore using EDS' Mphasis operations in Bangalore , India.
