Elopak, a Norway-based packaging company, has awarded a six-year, $18.6 million outsourcing contract to Unisys’ Norwegian subsidiary.

Under the terms of the outsourcing deal, Unisys will provide Elopak with a comprehensive suite of IT services. Unisys will provide outsourcing services to support more than 1,500 Elopak employees at 33 locations in 25 countries on five continents. The services include service desk, desktop services, centralized and distributed systems management and data-center hosting.

The Unisys Nordic outsourcing center in Alingsas, Sweden, will provide the data-center services for Elopak. The Unisys global sourcing operations centers in Bangalore, India will handle systems-management services, as well as certain desktop and help desk services.

Unisys will begin the transformation of Elopak’s IT environment during the second half of 2007.
