The northward movement of the Global Service Provider Index in the last few months of 2006, continued into the first month of 2007. It moved up from 1,190.35 to 1,241.02, up by 4.26%. The S&P 500 also showed the same trend and reached to 1,448.31 on Feb. 08th from 1,412.84 on Jan. 08th, up by 2.5%.
During the last month, except eFunds, which posted a marginal loss of 0.2%, the rest others registered gains.
Among the top, there are some organizations that registered notable gains, more than 15%, include Syntel (up by 33.2%), Teletech Holdings (up by 31.9%), Keane (up by 18.4%), CGI Group (up by 18.3%) and Patni (up by 17.3%).
The top gainer of the month Syntel saw a few ups and downs--it closed at 26.61 on Jan. 08th, 34.08 on Feb. 03rd, and finally 35.4 on Feb. 08th.
