To track the 2.5 million people displaced by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the Louisiana Department of Social Services partnered with ACS. And now the Outsourcing Center recognizes the partnership, and has awarded the duo the “Best BPO Partnership” recognition for 2007.
The Outsourcing Center’s annual Outsourcing Excellence Awards recognize the best outsourcing partnerships every year, and this year it has instituted awards in nine categories. (See Table 3 for all categories and winners.) Interestingly, only four out of the nine awards have been bagged by the Big Six outsourcers (IBM, HP, EDS, CSC, ACS, Accenture) and the top offshore providers (TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant). One of these is HP’s partnership with Bank of India for IT infrastructure services. In their three years partnership, they have won two such awards, the first one in 2005 was for “Best First Steps.” HP manages the bank’s core banking solution, data warehousing and document imaging solution across 1,000+ branches. It also manages its data center, disaster recovery site, call center, and help desk.
