TCS, Infosys, and Wipro continue to lead the pack, while the next five companies also maintain their position in the list of top Indian IT services providers, released by the Indian IT industry body, NASSCOM.
The recent ramp-ups by Cognizant, Accenture, IBM and HP, which are US-listed companies do not show up as they are not headquartered in India, however they would have been placed amongst the top 10 companies if were they to be ranked.
According to the survey, the big six Indian IT service providers, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Satyam, HCL and Patni have kept their rankings intact and in that order for the last four years. Indias software exports in 2005-06 touched $17.3 billion, the Nasscom statement said.
Larsesn & Toubro and Mphasis have moved up two ranks from the last years ranking to position 10 and 16 respectively. On the other hand last years ninth ranker, Polaris, has dropped to rank 11 and there was a three rank drop for i-gate from the last years ranking, it dropped to 17.
In addition, companies such as Kanbay, Syntel and Intelligroup all with an India-centric global delivery model but unable to provide India specific revenue details are excluded from the list, Nasscom added.
The list - TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Satyam, HCL, Patni, I-flex, Tech Mahindra, Perot, L&T Infotech, Polaris, Hexaware, Mastek, Mphasis, Siemens Information Systems, Genpact, i-Gate Global Solutions, Flextronics Software Systems, NIIT and Covansys.
The list excludes the IT Enabled Services (ITes) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) revenues.
