American consumers of financial services lack confidence about their personal financial information being processed overseas, according to a report by Opinion Research Corporation.

Eighty percent of respondents polled prefer to have their loan or credit applications processed within the U.S.A., even if they know that the information will be processed two to three times faster if sent overseas (See Chart 2). They are content to know that their applications are being processed in the U.S.A.
