BPO analyst firm NelsonHall, in its recent report Targeting Payments BPO, has stated that payments BPO service vendors must develop multi-service, cross-border capability to support their clients in new revenue generation. The report states that the next two years will change the landscape of payments BPO. Regulatory changes and economic pressure on customers, both banks and merchants, will result in a succession of ground breaking multinational contracts.
The report further states that transaction processing is moving increasingly out of customer environment into an outsourced environment where service differentiation is based on access. Transaction capture is moving out of a BPO environment back to the customer.
